Today, an old friend came to visit. We went to school together and she always got on well with my parents, so I set up a surprise meeting with her for my mother when we were in Edinburgh (where the friend works) the other day, and it turned into a plan to have Kaffee & Kuchen at the house today. At long last, and just before my parents arrive for a 10-day stay and my online time will be drastically reduced, I've managed to put together the Copenhagen picspam. It's amazing what a timesink this sort of thing can be. Not tempted to do it again so soon...

You know what's problematic? When you have inadvertently become a member of a writing group (former students of mine set it up and invited me along, and they are nice people, so...) and there's nothing at all you can take to the meetings because what you write is... um. I totally managed to upset my sleeping pattern, in one fell swoop in a single night. Why?
